The Mavericks have won three in a row and 10 of their last 13 games, and unveiled new point guard Rajon Rondo in Saturdays 99-93 victory over the San Antonio Spurs. Acquired in a deal with Boston last week, Rondo handed out nine assists to go along with six points and seven rebounds. Rondo made just 3-of-11 shots and had two steals. He needs eight steals for 1,000 in his career. He didnt shoot particularly well, but he did a lot of great things, Mavs coach Rick Carlisle said of Rondo. He did a lot of things that most guys in that position just dont do -- rebounding, making plays, things like that. Monta Ellis scored a game-high 38 points on 15-of-23 shooting and Chandler Parsons added with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Dirk Nowitzki and Devin Harris scored 13 points apiece for the Mavericks, who posted 25 points off 19 San Antonio turnovers and erased an 89-86 deficit with a 13-4 run. Ellis scored 11 of Dallas last 13 points. Nowitzki needs 44 points to pass Elvin Hayes (27,313) for eighth place on the NBAs all-time scoring list.
