China disputed claims Tuesday about inadequate efforts to save the crew of tanker Sanchi Paco Alcacer Trikot , saying they are "untrue and irresponsible."
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lu Kang said at a daily press briefing that China mobilized nine vessels on the day the accident happened and there had been more than 13 rescue vessels at the scene from the second day.
Rescue forces from Shanghai and Jiangsu worked with Japan and the Republic of Korea (ROK) in the rescue operations, said Lu.
An Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson said Monday that it is "not true" to say that China had not made adequate efforts when faced with such a complex accident and that China had provided the utmost cooperation to Iran during the process.
"The remarks from the Iranian side shows that claims of an inadequate rescue are untrue and irresponsible," said Lu.
The Panama-registered oil tanker Sanchi, carrying 136 Axel Witsel Trikot ,000 tonnes of light crude oil from Iran, collided with the CF Crystal, a Hong Kong-registered bulk freighter, about 300 kilometers east of the Yangtze estuary on Jan. 6. Thirty-two crew members of the tanker Eric Oelschlagel Trikot , 30 Iranians and two Bangladeshis, were lost.
The entire ship sank Sunday afternoon. No burning was seen on sea surface from a marine surveillance plane at about 1 p.m. Monday and the oil spill could be easily seen from the air.
Lu said China welcomes Iran to join in the investigation of the accident, and will facilitate visas for the families of the crew.
China on Tuesday again voiced opposition to a gathering in Vancouver of foreign ministers from 20 countries on security and stability on the Korean Peninsula.
Canada and the United States will co-host the meeting, scheduled for Tuesday Omer Toprak Trikot , will discuss measures to exert maximum diplomatic as well as economic pressures on the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) to force it to end its nuclear and missile programs.
"Since this meeting does not have legitimacy or representativeness, China has opposed the meeting from the very beginning," Foreign Ministry spokesman Lu Kang told a routine press briefing. "While countries are committed to finding a proper solution for the peaceful settlement of the Korean Peninsula nuclear issue, some parties hold such a meeting in the name of the so-called United Nations command during the Cold War era. We do not know what the purpose of convening such a meeting is."
He said that without participation of some of the most important direct parties to the nuclear issue Marwin Hitz Trikot , the Vancouver meeting had no legitimacy and was not representative.
The meeting, in which China's foreign minister will not participate, comes as the DPRK and the ROK have resumed talks after Pyongyang decided to join the PyeongChang Winter Olympics next month.

RIO DE JANEIRO, Aug. 11 (Xinhua) -- It was a night of high drama at Rio's Olympic Aquatics Stadium on Thursday with a new Michael Phelps record Jacob Bruun Larsen Trikot , a dead heat and Canada's first gold medal of these Games.
Phelps became the first swimmer to win the same event at four consecutive Olympics when he claimed the gold medal in the men's 200m individual medley.
The American finished the final in 1 minute 54.66 seconds, almost two seconds ahead of Japan's Kosuke Hagino. China's Wang Shun took bronze in 1:57.05.
While the landmark is a swimming first, two other athletes have achieved the feat in other Olympic sports: Al Oerter in discuss and Carl Lewis in long jump.
Phelps could also perform the so-called four-peat in the 100m butterfly here.
Thursday's victory was Phelps' 22nd Olympic gold medal as he continues to extend his record as the most successful Olympian of all time.
The 31-year-old has now won each of his four finals in Rio so far: the 200m butterfly, the 4x100m freestyle Julian Weigl Trikot , the 4x200m freestyle and the 200m individual medley.
On Friday, he will compete in the final of the 100m butterfly and he is expected to also take part in the 4x100m medley relay.
He backed up his win on Thursday by returning to the pool half an hour later for the semifinals of the 100m butterfly, in which he qualified fifth for the final. Singapore's Joseph Schooling was fastest in 50.83 seconds.
Thursday's dead heat came in the women's 100m freestyle final, in which US swimmer Simone Manuel and Canada's Penny Oleksiak both finished in an Olympic record of 52.70 seconds. Sweden's Sarah Sjostrom took the bronze medal in 52.99.
Australia's Bronte Campbell Dzenis Burnic Trikot , who qualified fastest for the final and set a world record in the event last month, was fourth in 53.02 seconds.
It was Canada's first gold medal of these Games and the USA's 16th, 11 of them coming in the pool.
Oleksiak has also claimed silver in the 100m butterfly and bronze in the 4x100m freestyle and 4x200m freestyle here.

Rie Kaneto claimed Japan's second swimming gold medal of the Rio Olympics by winning the women's 200m breaststroke final.
