LAS VEGAS -- The watershed moment happened in the second quarter of Team USAs 111-74 win over Argentina on Friday in the first game of the Olympic preparation run. For the first time, new Golden State Warriors teammates Kevin Durant, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson shared the floor. They didnt even realize it.When youre out there right now, you dont even think about the fact that were teammates, Green said. Were all teammates right now. Honestly, if you want me to be quite frank with you, I didnt even notice me, Klay and KD were out there together.I didnt really notice. I was just lost in the game, Durant said. We didnt really talk about it.Durant apparently didnt notice when Green set a screen for him, which freed KD to nail a 3-pointer, and gave him a low-five after the perfect execution of a two-man game that could terrorize the NBA next season. Or when in the fourth quarter, Green set Durant up for two more 3-pointers and Durant hit Green for a 3-pointer in a span of four possessions. All I saw was USA across the chest, said Durant, who scored 23 points to lead the team. When youre playing out there with players who know how to play the game of basketball, it just makes it so easy for you.Green, Durant and Thompson played together for only two minutes, but they played longer and stronger in separate pairs, specifically with Green at center and Durant at small forward in coach Mike Krzyzewskis small lineups that repeatedly victimized Argentinas inexperienced big men.The highlight of the evening, however, belonged to Paul George. Playing in his first Team USA game since he suffered a broken leg in an exhibition two years ago in Las Vegas, George scored 18 points on 7-of-11 shooting with two steals. This game was in a different arena than the one two years ago -- the brand-new T-Mobile Arena -- and George has played more than 100 games since the injury. But he still felt he had a hurdle to overcome. There were a lot of emotions, Im not going to lie, George said. The guys in the locker room did a great job of making sure I was good when I came out on this floor.Krzyzewski praised Georges play and said he was perhaps in the best shape of any of the Olympians -- most of them were playing their first game action in weeks.Team USAs strength on the interior was another facet of the first game. With two true centers in DeAndre Jordan and DeMarcus Cousins, the Americans crushed the Argentines on the inside and with second-chance points. Cousins had 15 rebounds in just 16 minutes, and the two had nine offensive rebounds and seven dunks or layups. Overall, Team USA had 22 offensive rebounds and 26 second-chance points. The only time Argentina was competitive was during a short spurt in the third quarter when veterans Manu Ginobili, Luis Scola, Carlos Delfino and Andres Nocioni played together. They tied the Americans 24-24 in the third quarter, but their younger players struggled otherwise. The first time we played the Americans when I was young, we took pictures and asked for their jerseys, said the 36-year-old Scola, who scored 10 points. Our young guys didnt do that, so that was good. Glenn Hubbard Jersey .C. at the helm of the top team in the Eastern Conference. His tenure as the GM in Vancouver was all too brief. Though he led the Canucks to what was then a franchise record-shattering campaign in just his second season, Nonis was gone and replaced one year later. Phil Niekro Jersey .J. -- Marshawn Lynch said Thursday it will be good to get back to football after the Seattle quiet talking running back wrapped up his final mandatory media session of Super Bowl week. http://www.custombravesjersey.com/custom-phil-niekro-jersey-large-327z.html .Y. -- Sabres defenceman Tyler Myers had no intention of changing his hard-hitting style before taking part in a disciplinary hearing for his illegal check to New Jersey forward Dainius Zubrus head. Greg Maddux Jersey Large . The CFLs leading rusher kept adding to his gaudy numbers this season and scored the winning touchdown with just over two minutes to play. The New Westminster, B.C., native plowed three yards into the end zone for the last score of a heated, see-saw battle between the two teams with the best records in the CFL. William Contreras Jersey . He said Tuesday thats a big reason why he is now the new coach of the Tennessee Titans. Whisenhunt said he hit it off quickly with Ruston Webster when interviewing for the job Friday night. There are three ways for an athlete to retire. Theres Door No. 1: the Jim Brown/Bill Russell model, which is to retire at the top of the game without a detectable diminishment of skill. Brown walked away the best player in the game in 1965. An aged, ferocious champion Russell did so in 1969.There is Door No. 2: being knocked into retirement by injury. Andy Roddick hurt his shoulder and called it a career. Terry Bradshaws elbow ended his playing days. There was Joe Montana lying on the frozen turf in Buffalo, concussed, and Larry Bird resting his aching back on the Dream Team sideline. And Joe Theismann, well ...Then there is Door No. 3: hanging on too long. It is the saddest door in sports. It is watching Willie Mays stumble in the outfield, Pedro Martinez get hammered in the World Series and Michael Jordan wear a Washington Wizards jersey.Roger Federers announcement that he will miss the remainder of the 2016 season suggests he will soon be headed toward Door No. 2. But within his Facebook announcement, in which he mentioned his plan to return and play another two or three years, he is risking the dreaded Door No. 3.To love Federer, as his ravenous fan base does, is to read his vow to return to play attacking tennis as his showing the teeth of the shark. For all Federers leggendary elegance and beauty, it is his competitive side, the part motivated by slight or appearance of a new rival or someone challenging his place that gives the genius its power.ddddddddddddSharks know only how to eat and fight, however, and dont get hung up on near misses. Doubting Federer fuels the engine. He is quick to remind the public and media that losing to?Sergiy Stakhovsky?at Wimbledon and?Tommy Robredo at the US Open, both in 2013, were not the end of the world after all. Last season, despite losses to Novak Djokovic in the Wimbledon and US Open finals, was one of his strongest in years. What door awaits Federer will be a fascinating watch when he returns in 2017. His tank is not empty, in either competitiveness or love for the sport. He hasnt won a major since 2012, but he has been a finalist three times. For him, that is proof that he has no reason to quit or give in to anyone, Djokovic included. Those who watch Federer struggle and want him to quit do so generally out of love. They get squeamish watching the master yield to time, the one enemy that remains undefeated. The shark doesnt look at it that way, which is why he is a shark. ' ' '
