Nike has big plans for this coming Holiday 2016 season including the surprise retro of the Air Max Uptempo Schoenen for their “12 Soles” Christmas campaign. If the tonal olive colorway that unifies the upcoming release slate isn’t for you, then this premium Black/White offering would be a nice alternative. The Air Max Uptempo 2 has long been a favorite of those nostalgic for some 90s basketball as the high-top even featured added graphic patterns on the 180 degree Air Max unit. Here the unique midsole is toned down thanks to a matching white on white shade while premium suede accents compliment the sports mesh in a matching black shade.
The Air Max Uptempo te Koop is the definitive mid-90’s basketball shoe. The high-cut profile, the aggressive outsole (darn near a work-boot compared to sexy and sleek lines seen in the Zoom Hyperdunk 2011), and the heel-cushioned Max Air piece are all trademarks of that era, and this simple colorway of Black, White, and Dark Shadow exemplifies the simpler nature of color-blocking of the past (no tonal Mint Green or Solar Red here).
Air Max Uptempo Goedkoop Back in 2006, Nike re-released a widely popular Nike Basketball shoe from the mid-90’s catalog – the Nike Air Max Uptempo 2 – in the classic White/Blue/Black colorway. These were often attributed to the Duke Blue Devils, who wore a number of different Nike Basketball shoes like the Air Flight Huarache, Air Force Max B, and Air Unlimited, but it was also the UConn Huskies who rocked these beauties throughout most of the ’95 Tourney.
Nike Retro releases have become rather common these days, haven’t they? Most of the Nike Barkley line has made its way to store shelves, and three Griffey models have been crossed off the list as well. The Kopen Air Max Uptempo is one shoe that was already re-released, and it’ll make its way back to store shelves this Holiday season.
